கலைஞர் கருணாநிதி தான் பிறந்து வளர்ந்த ஊர் திருக்குவளையைப் பற்றி “நினைக்கிறேன் இனிக்கிறது,நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் மணக்கிறது”, என்று எழுதி உள்ளார்.

Kalaignar Karunanidhi was born on June 3, 1924, in the village of Thirukuvalai, near Thiruvarur in Tanjore district, the granary of Tamil Nadu. His father Muthuvel was a scholar and a pandit, and his mother Anjugam, a devoted and loving housewife. Karunanidhi during 19-4-1970 has written a essay about his beautiful village and he says he cannot forget the green paddy fields and temples in his village.
